In all honesty, I've wanted to have a blog like this for years. But I always figured no one would want to read it, people from high school would think it was weird, or I wouldn't be taken seriously. But I was reading a book by Rachel Hollis, Girl, Wash Your Face, and it was insanely inspirational. She talked about doing what you want to do no matter what other people would think, so I decided to do just that.

The blog for Katherine Powell Books is where I want to talk about...everything. I have so many passions, from writing to music to feminism to politics to beauty to fashion to...well the list goes on. I wanted a place where I could write about my favorite meal preps to do in college and then in the very next post discuss modern feminism and why the Twitter account @SheRatesDogs is one of the most important of our generation. 

But, as a small introduction to the person behind the posts, hi! My name is Katherine, I'm the author of the Watty-award winning book Dear Sydney, I'm a graduate of Brigham Young University with a degree in Political Science, and I am currently working in the Governor's Office of Planning & Budget in the Utah State Capitol.
